Chevron Amethyst is a variety of amethyst with purple chevrons or zigzag patterns of white quartz.  When the chevrons are less defined and the crystal is a mixture of white and purple, this is also referred to as dream amethyst.

Amethyst forms as a result of volcanic processes within the Earth’s crust and is a purple variety of quartz.
