What is Ruby?

Natural Ruby is one of four “precious” gemstones (including Diamond, Emerald and Sapphire).  It is the birthstone for the month of July and the gemstone for a 40th Anniversary.

Ruby has been a cherished, high valued and highly sought-after gem for hundreds of years.  It is a deep red gem that has possessed symbolic and special meanings through time.

Through the ages, Rubies have represented passion and purity and ancient cultures even believed that Ruby is more precious than Diamonds. 

Many cultures considered Ruby as a stone of protection, prosperity, love and abundance. It is also known for its properties that can boost confidence, increase sexual desire, stimulate the heart and boost energy. 

It can also be a useful stone for clearing resentment and negativity from the past.

What is Aquamarine?

Aquamarine is the blue variety of the mineral Beryl.  It is classed as a semi precious stone and is very popular in jewellery.

In the middle ages, Aquamarine was prized as the most superior material for fortune telling crystal balls, whilst in 1377, William \Langland praised the gemstone as an antidote for poison.

Aquamarine was traditionally called the treasure of mermaids and sailors would carry it on their journeys in the belief that it would protect them while travelling over water.

Aquamarine is a very calming stone. It heals emotional trauma, helping to achieve closure.  It brings peace, calms the heart and helps to clear the mind.

In Eastern metaphysics, Aquamarine is associated with the Throat Chakra and is used to overcome the fear of public speaking.  It aids communication, helping you to speak the truth and is especially good for sensitive people.
